Wheel Spinner — Spin and Pick a Random Winner

Add your names. Spin the wheel. Done.

Used for classrooms, live streams, team meetings, and quick decisions every day.

YaySpinner is an online wheel spinner that does exactly what you came here to do — pick a random result from a list. Type your options in the panel, click to spin the wheel, and watch it land on a name. It works as a random name picker, a decision wheel, or a general-purpose random picker for any situation where you need a fair choice without the back-and-forth.

No sign-up required. The wheel stays front and center. Runs in your browser on any device. Your data stays on your machine.

How to Use a Wheel Spinner

1

Add your list

Type names, paste a list, or upload images. One item per line. The wheel builds itself as you type.

2

Spin

Click the wheel or the spin button. It accelerates, coasts, and decelerates to a natural stop.

3

See the winner

The result appears as the wheel stops. Remove it, spin again, share the wheel link, or start fresh.

Teachers

A teacher might project the wheel on a smartboard during morning routines — spinning for calendar helper, line leader, or the day's read-aloud volunteer. With auto-removal turned on, each student gets picked exactly once before the list resets. No repeats, no complaints about favoritism.

Some teachers also use Blind Mode to hide the entries on the wheel, so students can't see who's coming up next. It keeps the anticipation high and the focus on the lesson instead of the screen.

Streamers & Creators

During a subscriber milestone stream, a creator pastes 200 viewer names into the wheel and spins live. The chat watches it slow down together. When it lands, the winner is clear to everyone — no questions, no disputes.

For bigger events, the share feature lets you send a direct link to the exact wheel setup. Moderators or co-hosts can open it on their end and verify the entries match. And if there's a multi-round giveaway — say, three winners from one list — running multiple wheels side by side makes the whole thing faster.

Teams & Remote Workers

Monday standup. Eight people on the call. Nobody wants to go first. Someone drops the YaySpinner link in Slack, adds the team names, and shares the screen. A few seconds later, the order is set. No volunteering needed, no awkward silence.

For sprint retrospectives or demo days, the shared wheel link means the whole team sees the same setup — no one has to re-enter names each time. Save it once, reuse it every week.

Everyday Decisions

It's 7pm. You've been going back and forth about dinner for 15 minutes. Someone opens a decision wheel, types in "Thai · Sushi · Pizza · That new place," and spins. Thai wins. Discussion over.

For choices where one option shouldn't dominate — like a restaurant you've already been to three times this month — you can adjust the entry weights so it shows up as a smaller slice. Still possible, just less likely. The wheel reflects priorities without removing options entirely.

What YaySpinner Can Do

Multiple Wheels

Run up to 4 wheels side by side for comparisons or multi-round picks. Spin all at once or one at a time.

Image Entries

Add photos instead of text. Product picks, headshots, visual games — the winner displays full-size.

Save & Share

Save your wheel to the cloud. Share a direct link. Recipients get your exact entries, colors, and settings.

Blind Mode

Hide the entries on the wheel so no one can see what's coming. The result reveals only after the spin.

Auto-Remove Winners

Elimination mode removes each picked entry automatically. Run a full rotation without manual cleanup.

Max Visibility

Optimizes text size on each segment so every entry stays readable — even on wheels with 30+ options.

Is This Wheel Actually Random?

Yes — and here's what happens behind the spin.

YaySpinner uses crypto.getRandomValues() — a secure random function built into modern browsers. In simple terms: each spin is unpredictable and independent. No patterns. No memory from previous spins.

Most other wheel spinners rely on Math.random(), a standard function that works fine for animations but is technically predictable. YaySpinner uses the cryptographic alternative for the actual spin result — the same type of function used by password managers and security tools.

What this means in practice: there's no built-in way to influence the result. Getting the same name twice in a row is normal — the same way a fair coin can land heads three times straight. Each spin starts from scratch.

Your entries stay in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to our servers unless you choose to save to your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is YaySpinner free?

Yes. Multiple wheels, image entries, custom colors, and result history are all available with no payment or time limits. Optional accounts for saving and sharing are also free.

How do I add names to the wheel?

Type or paste your names into the panel on the right, one per line. The wheel rebuilds as you type. Click the wheel center or the Spin button to start.

Is the result truly random?

Yes. YaySpinner uses crypto.getRandomValues(), a cryptographically secure API built into modern browsers. Each spin is independent — past results have no effect on future spins. In other words, every spin starts fresh.Randomness Audit Report

Can I use it for a giveaway or raffle?

Yes. Paste your entrant list, spin on screen, and the winner is picked at random. The visual spin makes the result easy for everyone watching to follow and verify.

Can I run multiple wheels at once?

Yes — up to 4 wheels simultaneously. Add wheels with the + button, configure each one separately, and hit Spin All.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Fully responsive on any modern browser. Touch-to-spin works the same as clicking.

Can I save my wheel?

Your wheel auto-saves to your browser's local storage. For cloud sync or sharing across devices, create an account and save there.

Can I use images instead of text?

Yes. Switch to image mode to upload photos. Thumbnails display on each segment; the winning image shows full-size in the result popup.

How many entries can I add?

There's no fixed limit. The wheel performs smoothly with up to around 500 entries. For very large lists, splitting into rounds gives the best experience.

What's On-Wheel vs Popup mode?

On-Wheel highlights the winning segment directly on the wheel. Popup shows a dedicated result card with celebration effects. When entries include images, popup activates automatically.
